San Francisco, CA: Travel down the Yellow Brick Road with award-winning cartoonist Eric Shanower as he presents words and images from his many Oz projects through the years. Laugh as Shanower discloses his childhood efforts to channel the magic of L. Frank Baum’s Oz books. Cheer as Shanower details his struggles to find a publisher for his early Oz comics. Sigh with relief as Shanower extolls his collaboration with Skottie Young on their New York Times best selling series of Oz graphic novels. Don’t miss this unique peek behind the curtain of today’s Oz comics and illustration.

Eric Shanower is the award-winning cartoonist of the graphic novel series Age of Bronze published by Image Comics, a retelling of the Trojan War story. With cartoonist Skottie Young, he is adapting L. Frank Baum’s classic Oz books to award-winning, New York Times best selling graphic novels for Marvel Comics. Shanower’s past work includes his own Oz graphic novel series, currently published by IDW as Little Adventures in Oz, as well as comics art for An Accidental Death by Ed Brubaker, The Elsewhere Prince by Moebius and R-JM Lofficier, and Harlan Ellison’s Dream Corridor. He has illustrated for television, magazines, and children’s books, two of which he wrote himself. In 1994 he co-founded—and through 2002 was co-publisher of—Hungry Tiger Press, which specializes in books and cds reprinting and continuing the works of Oz-creator L. Frank Baum. He lives in San Diego, California, with his partner, David Maxine. Examples of his work can be found at www.age-of-bronze.com <http://www.age-of-bronze.com> .
