  • Visits are available during the museum’s open hours only: Tuesday through Sunday 11am to 5pm.
  • Self-guided tours are limited to 35 individuals per visit.
  • Larger groups can break up and stagger their visit. The nearby Yerba Buena Gardens offers a park area where groups may wait, or your group may opt to visit one of our neighboring museums.

• If no other activities are scheduled, group admission fees may be paid upon arrival, but to receive the group discount you must reserve your visit at least two weeks in advance.

Docent-Led Tours guide groups through our permanent galleries to illustrate the evolution of cartoon art from turn-of-the-century newspaper strips to present-day comics and animation.

  • Tours are 30 to 45 minutes in length, depending on the group.
  • Tours are available from 11:00am to 4pm.
  • There is a limit of one tour per time slot.
  • Docent-led tours are limited to 25 individuals per tour.
  • Groups of 26 or more will be charged an additional $25 for a second, non-simultaneous tour. Larger groups can break up and stagger their visit. The nearby Yerba Buena Gardens offers a park area where groups may wait, or your group may opt to visit one of our neighboring museums.
  • A docent fee of $25 per docent-led tour requested will be added to your discounted group admission fees.
  • The $25 docent fee must be paid two weeks in advance of the scheduled tour to reserve the tour.
